Fall Fun

So we haven't really posted anything for awhile. I guess it means it is time to play a little bit of catch up. We have really enjoyed being outside in the fall weather.
We went to a campground and had tin foil dinners and smores.
It was right by a stream and Katie LOVED throwing rocks in the water. Not just pebbles, she would find the biggest rock she could carry and try and throw it in the stream. This picture is right after she threw it.
Paul has officially mastered the playground. The second we put him down he heads straight for the stairs. He can climb up and crawl all over the playground.
He loves the slide. I think it has been his greatest feat. He can climb all the way up and turn around to slide back down.
It wouldn't be fall without playing in the leaves. We got the pile so big over a couple weeks that it was taller than Katie. She will run around a tree and sing ring around the rosie and then when it gets close to the end she runs about 20 feet over to the pile of leaves and "falls down." It's hilarious.

Another First

That's right, Paul is hitting one milestone after the other. This just happens to be a pretty big one. He has taken his first steps!!! I know crazy. You don't believe me, that's what I thought. So I got proof. It isn't the most he has taken but it is two steps. He took his first step at the beginning of the week. He got up to three in a row. Today he took four, but of course I couldn't get it on camera. So this will have to do.

What went wrong???

Okay, so it is the Saturday morning of Conference and what do I want to do? Easy, wake up and cook some banana bread so Scott can have something good when he wakes up and something to snack on throughout the morning session. So like the good little wife I am I turned the oven on and stuck the chair next to the counter so Katie could help me cook. Meanwhile Paul is sitting in the high chair nibbling on some cheerios. Alright, so there's the scene. As I am grabbing all of the ingredients I started thinking...all of these people lately have been telling me that you can be healthier when you cook if you just use applesauce instead of sugar. You can't tell the difference...so I'm told. I thought why not, lets test Scott's taste buds. So Katie and I put it all together and in the oven it goes. Well 45 minutes later I go and wake up Scott so I can go running before Conference starts. We talk for a minute and he says that it smells delicious. That was the only compliment I got about the banana bread. Well the timer goes off at 50 minutes and I open the oven. Inside much to my surprise/dread whatever you want to call it I see...

Well there you have it. So much for trying to be healthy! I say eat drink and be merry for twenty minutes later I run!!! But if anyone knows the error of my ways feel free to laugh and then correct me. Oh by the way just to let you know, I really don't suck at cooking all of the time. Usually it turns out quite well...it's just when I adventure into the unknown. FOLLOW THE RECIPE, it never goes wrong when I pay attention to the directions.

Zippity Zoo Katie's TWO!!!!!

So we celebrated Katie's birthday yesterday with a little party. It turned out to be a whole lot of fun.

I made a Monsters Inc. cake. I think it turned out pretty nice. Katie loved it.
After pizza for dinner we had a little treasure hunt. I threw toys and candy all over the yard and the kids scampered off to find them.
Katie is our little raccoon. She picks up things all of the time and won't put them down. So the treasure hunt was great for her.
Katie and her friend Sophia enjoying their spoils.
One of the toys in the treasure hunt were these glasses. It was funny to see them on the kids.
Katie loved the singing and blew out the candles on the first try. She better get her wish.
I could not believe all of the gifts that she received. She loves them, she has been playing with everything all morning long. I am sure she is excited to have something new to play with.
Thanks to everyone that came and all of the gifts were absolutely incredible.

We love Katie so much and can't believe how big she is getting. She isn't my baby anymore, she has officially hit childhood.

I've been tagged...

My sister in law Tiffani tagged me. This looks like a fun one. Hope you enjoy getting to know me. Scott will have to do one for himself .

~Question #1: Where were you 10 years ago?
Coming home from Girls camp for the first time. I had only been in Young Women's for about half a year. I was a seventh grader.

~Question #2: What's on your to-do list today (this list includes today and tomorrow morning's list)?

Laundry, Laundry and more laundry. You have got to love vacations. I cleaned the whole house before we left to come home and destroy it. Why have I not done it yet do you ask, easy...we left our kids for over a week and now they won't let me go. Any advice anyone? I think that they are scared to let me out of their sight.

~Question #3: What if you were a billionaire?

1. Pay off all debts.

2. Buy a house with a fence and a yard so we could get a dog for Scott

2. Go and see my parents...and travel all over the place

3. Buy a car for me so I don't have to walk everywhere...wait I like walking...we would get a gym pass

2. I bite my nails...well actually I am just too lazy to get the clippers so I bite the edge and rip my nail off to cut them.

3. I have no will power when it comes to sweets...if I make a cake/bread/cookies or whatever Scott is lucky if he gets a piece. I am home all day so every time I walk by I take another piece.

Universal Studios, Disneyland and Beaches oh my!

Well we are back from our "Babymoon" I guess you could call it. It was absolutely AMAZING!!! We started the vacation by dropping the kids off at Grandpa and Grandma Evans'...thanks again. And drove the ten hours to Los Angeles. Where we spent Sunday evening with Mark and Bekah. It was so good to see them and just chat. Monday morning came after the FIRST uninterrupted nights sleep since Paul was born. It felt so good to wake up when I wanted to. We were planning on going to Six Flags and drove all the way there only to learn that it was closed. So we decided on Universal Studios. It was a lot of fun, and I learned a lot too. Scott volunteered in one of the shows and he had the audience cracking up a few times. It was hilarious. Monday night we made it to Bobbi Mann's house. Scott baptized her on his mission, and she was nice enough to let us stay ALL week! Thanks Bobbi! Tuesday we went to the beach and I boogie boarded and swam in the ocean for the first time. I have to say I didn't like the taste of salt in my mouth but I loved everything else. Wednesday we spent the day touring part of Scott's mission. It was fun to put places and people with stories. Thursday we headed back to the beach and found all sorts of seashells and hermit crabs. Friday we went to Disneyland with Mark and Bekah and hit every ride we wanted to go on at least once. It was such a good week to go. I will say that they talked me into going on the Tower and Terror and it was FREAKY!!! I didn't enjoy that at all. Saturday we went to the LA temple and my old roommate just happened to be getting married. Then we watched the BYU blowout....GO COUGARS!!!! And headed back to Alpine to get our kids. Well Sunday we got in the car to go to church and found that the battery light was on in our car. Monday the car went to the shop and it ended up being a quite expensive fix! All is well that ends well though. The car works and the trip was a blast. I loved being alone with Scott for a long while.
